Human Rights & Constitution of India
India has acceded to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as to the subsequent International Covenants of Economic, Social and Cultural rights and Civil & Political Rights adopted by the Central Assembly of the United Nations.
Fundamental rights recognised by the Indian constitution
- Right to equality (Articles. 14-18)
- Right to Freedom (Articles. 19-22)
- Right Against exploitation (Articles. 23-24)
The difference between fundamental rights and human rights
Human rights are universal, without any limitation. In contrast, a fundamental right exists within a specific legal system, with the limitations that the law grants. A fundamental right is, above all, a right that the constitution creates.
